چکیده
Generalized quasitopological gravities (GQTGs) are higher-order extensions of Einstein gravity in $D$ dimensions satisfying a number interesting properties, such as possessing second-order linearized equations motion on top maximally symmetric backgrounds, admitting nonhairy generalizations the Schwarzschild-Tangherlini black hole which characterized by single metric function or forming perturbative spanning set space effective theories gravity. In this work, we classify all inequivalent GQTGs at curvature orders $n$ and spacetime dimension $D\ensuremath{\ge}4$. This is achieved after explicit construction dictionary that allows uplift expressions evaluated single-function static spherically ansatz into fully covariant ones. On one hand, applying prescription for $D\ensuremath{\ge}5$, find form unique exists each and, first time, $n\ensuremath{-}2$ proper existing every order $n$. other $D=4$, able to provide rigorous proof fact there one, only (proper) GQTG $n$, deriving along way simple expression four-dimensional representative

Polycritical Gravities
We present higher-derivative gravities that propagate an arbitrary number of gravitons of different mass on (A)dS backgrounds. These theories have multiple critical points, at which the masses degenerate and the graviton energies are non-negative. For six derivatives and higher there are critical points with positive energy.

This is the first in a series of papers in which I investigate the orbifolds of permutation-type as candidates for new physical string systems at multiples of critical closed-string central charges. Examples include the bosonic orientation orbifolds, the bosonic permutation orbifolds and others, as well as superstring extensions. In this paper I use the extended (twisted) Virasoro algebras of t...

It is a pleasure to dedicate this little travelogue/catalogue of exotic gravity models to John Stachel, whose loyalty to the D=4 Einstein cause is too steadfast to be subverted by reading it. Once unleashed by general relativity, dynamical geometry has become a fertile playground for generalization in many directions beyond Einstein’s D=4 Ricci-flat choice. This trend has intensified with strin...
متن کاملGeneralized Inverse Classification
Inverse classification is the process of perturbing an instance in a meaningful way such that it is more likely to conform to a specific class. Historical methods that address such a problem are often framed to leverage only a single classifier, or specific set of classifiers. These works are often accompanied by naive assumptions. In this work we propose generalized inverse classification (GIC...
